SALT LAKE CITY — A person was hurt after a UTV rolled over and caught on fire near the Sand Dunes.
Hurricane Valley Fire District said crews responded to a vehicle fire involving a UTV that had rolled over and caught on fire near the Sand Dunes staging area.
“Before our crews arrived, an individual associated with the same party quickly intervened, helping to safely remove the two occupants from the vehicle,” the fire district said on Facebook.
The district said both occupants had helmets and seatbelts on during the accident. One of the occupants received burns on their face and hands but declined further medical treatment at the scene and took themselves to the hospital.
“We commend the quick actions of the bystander who assisted the occupants, as well as the diligence of our fire crews in responding to the situation,” the district said.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the cause is under investigation.
