Pilot Lands Safely In Logan After Problems With Landing Gear

LOGAN, Utah – Emergency responders were sent out to the Logan-Cache airport tarmac after a two-seat aircraft had problems deploying its landing gear.
Assistant Chief of Operations for the Logan City Fire Department, Doug Fullmer, said officials were dispatched to the airport on an Alert 1 early Wednesday evening.
They received reports that a pilot on a two-seat aircraft was having issues getting the landing gear down.
Officials said the pilot did a flyby past emergency responders so they could better assess the situation.
Eventually, the landing gear came down and the pilot was able to land safely.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
Fullmer said this was pretty much “textbook” for the pilot since they’re trained on what to do in situations like this.
Officials said there was some damage to the propeller and the underbelly of the aircraft, but they didn’t know exactly how much damage.
Fullmer said he was “pleasantly surprised” at how calm and collected the pilot was after the incident.
