WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police say two teenagers have been taken into custody after they brandished a firearm toward two people at Valley Fair Mall.
Sgt. Gabe Bier with the West Valley City Police Department said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The suspects, ages 16 and 17, allegedly approached an adult male and female while they were shopping at the mall and threatened them with a gun.
As the adults attempted to leave in their vehicle, police say one of the teens pointed the gun at them. One of the victims then purposely hit the suspects’ car in an attempt to prevent any shots from being fired.
Bier said the second suspect then fired at the adults’ car and hit it.
No injuries were reported and the teens were taken into custody. West Valley police have not released the suspects’ names but said they would be booked on multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
