Park officials are working on thinning more than 140-thousand acres of national forests in Utah, all in order to protect against catastrophic wildfires.
The Thompson Ridge Fire, the largest wildfire currently burning in Utah has grown to over 7,000 acres. But Thursday's storms helped minimize fire activity.
Crews are responding to two fires on Utah soil bordering Nevada Friday morning. The larger fire located 20 miles north of Wendover is currently burning 329 acres and stands at 10% confinement.
The Helper Fire Department said spectators who gathered to watch a structure fire in Price Saturday clogged the streets and prevented fire units from getting to the scene.
New fire restrictions are now in place within Cache, Box Elder and Weber counties because of "current and forecasted weather conditions coupled with the extremely dry vegetation" in northern Utah.
The Salt Lake City Fire Department and health officials are urging the community to be aware of heightened fire danger and the consequences that can follow.
