SALT LAKE CITY — The Consumer Protection Safety Commission issued a recall for Yaomiao children’s jewelry sets after they were found to contain unsafe amounts of lead and cadmium, violating the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.
The Salt Lake County Health Department said the recall was for approximately 6,900 jewelry sets sold on Amazon between January 2022 and March 2024.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled jewelry sets, take them away from children and contact LordRoads for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to dispose of the recalled jewelry sets and send a photo of the disposed sets to simlordroadple@163.com. LordRoads and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly,” the Consumer Protection Safety Commission said.
The Commission described the jewelry as “silver colored with multicolored gems shaped as a unicorn, a butterfly, a heart, a turtle, a star, or a rainbow with a cloud.” The lead and cadmium in the jewelry are toxic if eaten and could cause serious health effects, the Commission said.
