Man accused of possessing stolen firearm, police say

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested Monday night and accused of possessing stolen property including a firearm, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
According to a press release, the SLCPD received a report of stolen electronics at a residence at 1391 S. Utahna Cir.
When officers with the SLCPD’s Pioneer Patrol Division responded to the call, police said they found a vehicle running in the area.
As they talked to the driver, officers said they saw electronics inside the vehicle that matched the description of stolen items.
The driver, later identified as 40-year-old Jerami Esquibel, had an existing felony warrant. Police said he also had a stolen handgun, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
Esquibel was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail. Police suspect him of drug possession with intent to distribute, theft of a firearm, theft, and operating a vehicle without a license.
