BLUFFDALE, Utah – Police said a woman’s body was discovered inside a car at a gas station Tuesday.
Sgt. Greg Shaver told KSL TV that Bluffdale police found a vehicle at a 7-Eleven on South Redwood Rd. Police reportedly took a suspect into custody.
An affidavit identifies the suspect as Jacob Johnson, 40, who is facing murder charges.
According to the affidavit, police were conducting a DUI investigation at approximately 12:10 a.m. Tuesday. While speaking with Johnson, police reportedly saw a woman’s body in the back of the vehicle.
“The victim had significant injuries and trauma that would be consistent with a homicide,” the affidavit stated.
Johnson was then taken into police custody, where police said he disclosed the victim was an intimate partner who he currently lived with. Johnson told police the two had been in an argument, “stating that it was over with their relationship,” the affidavit stated.
Police reported Johnson told them the victim had sustained physical trauma, and that he had moved her into the vehicle.
