WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Several reports of shots fired were reported Sunday evening in a shopping center parking lot and it is believed one person was injured.
Lt. Robert Brinton with West Valley City Police Department said just before 11 p.m. Sunday, police received multiple calls about shots being fired with some saying they’d heard up to 30 shots fired near Anaya’s Market.
Lt. Julie Jorgensen with WVCPD said video surveillance of the parking lot of the shopping center near 4000 West 4100 South showed two suspects entering from the west when a gold SUV approached those two suspects.
There was some sort of disagreement and the group was seen shoving each other before there were shots fired.
One of the occupants of the truck was hit, and some blood was found at the scene, however police said no one has shown up at the hospital with a gunshot wound yet.
Jorgensen said four people were involved and the apartment building was struck by stray bullets.
Fortunately, no one in the apartments was hurt.
The incident is still under investigation.
