Still looking for ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Here are some events to welcome 2025

SALT LAKE CITY — People across Utah will celebrate New Year’s Eve tomorrow. And if you still haven’t decided how you will ring in 2025, here are some ideas.
The Gateway will host the biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in the Beehive State. ‘Last Hurrah’ is a free all-ages event that offers live music, hot drinks, buskers, and extended hours at some of the shopping center’s vendors.
The event begins at 8 p.m. and ends at midnight.
New Year’s Eve in the mountains
If you’re spending the day at one of Utah’s ski resorts, you won’t need to go far for evening festivities. Torchlight parades are a common tradition. Several Utah ski resorts will host torchlight parades and firework shows.
Snowbird’s parade starts at 6 p.m. Guests can watch from the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck. Fire pits and hot cocoa will be available after the parade.
Brian Head, Solitude, Deer Valley, and Nordic Valley will host similar events.
Alta’s torchlight parade and fireworks will begin at 6 p.m. They’ll light a bonfire at 5 p.m. The skiers-only resort invited guests with at least an intermediate skill level to participate. Alta is the only resort that invites resort guests to participate.
According to Alta, participation will be limited to the first 500 to secure a ticket. Those with lift tickets for Dec. 31 will receive a free ticket to participate. Others can purchase one for $10. Visit the ski area’s website for more information.
Family-friendly events
Some New Year’s Eve celebrations may not suit young children. However, there are plenty of daytime options that will allow littles to get in on the fun.
According to Visit Salt Lake, The Leonardo will host ‘Noon Year’s Eve.’ The event will include crafts and science demonstrations. Additionally, a confetti drop will happen at 12 p.m.
Daybreak will host their own version of ‘Noon Year’s Eve.’ According to their website, guests can participate in obstacle courses, celebratory traditions from around the world, and dancing. A balloon drop will happen at noon.
In the evening, Thanksgiving Point’s Luminaria offers a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
For the adults
There are also several options for those celebrating a child-free New Year’s Eve.
Following ‘Noon Year’s Eve,’ The Leonardo will host a 21+ ‘Night at the Museum.’
The Mariposa, a restaurant at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Lodge, will host a New Year’s Eve dinner. More information can be found on the ski resort’s website.
