Once inside the helicopter, Hales gave his rescuers a double peace sign to thank them. Wasatch Search and Rescue airlifted Hales to get medical attention. Chopper 5 shows footprints leading out of area where Hales spent four days lost near the Strawberry River drainage area of Wasatch County. Chopper 5 found located Hales snowmobile which he abandoned after getting lost near Heber. Evidence of a fire started near Hales snowmobile.
