MILLVILLE, Cache County — A Ridgeline High School student won a $1,000 scholarship for her dedication to saving lives.

High school senior Cyerra Spencer hosted a blood drive through the American Red Cross of Utah as a part of the American Red Cross’s Leaders Save Lives program.

Cyerra’s drive collected at least 25 pints of blood, earning her the scholarship.

“Cyerra’s commitment demonstrates the power of young people to rally their communities for a lifesaving cause,” said Benjamin Donner, executive director of the American Red Cross Central and Southern Utah Chapter.
