The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Madsen will announce his college decision at the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl inside the Alamodome on Saturday, January 11. His decision will air on KSL 5 TV in Salt Lake City and NBC affiliates nationally.
Kickoff for the Navy All-American Bowl is at 11 a.m. (MST).
Along with BYU, Madsen’s other finalists are Oregon and UCLA.
Recruiting analysts have projected that Madsen will commit to the Oregon Ducks.
Madsen received an offer from BYU coaches last April and is viewed as a prospect who could project as a linebacker or running back. He took an official visit to Provo last June and had game visits to LaVell Edwards Stadium for the Southern Illinois and Kansas games.
247Sports rates Madsen as the 197th prospect nationally in the 2025 recruiting class. The 247Sports Composite has Madsen as the 433rd prospect in the nation.
Madsen is one of five players who plan to announce their college commitment at the Navy All-American game on Saturday. The other scheduled commitments are D’Shaun Ford (RB; Opelousas, Louisiana), Justin Hasenhuetl (OL; Rabun Gap, Georgia), Cameron Sparks (WR; Chattanooga, Tennessee), and T’Andre Waverly (TE; Mukilteo, Washington).
Along with being a football standout, Madsen has also competed in track and field events such as shot put and discus.
Madsen is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and plans to serve a two-year mission for the Church beginning this summer.
