Seattle Seahawks Sign Former BYU QB Jaren Hall To Active Roster

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks signed former BYU quarterback Jaren Hall to their active roster ahead of their week 16 game against the Vikings.
Seattle’s starter, Geno Smith, is set to play. However, his rise to the active roster may mean he will be the backup.

Smith went down with a knee injury on Sunday Night Football last week.
Sam Howell checked in and struggled to say the least. The Seahawks lost to the Packers, 30-13.

Every sign points towards full health for Smith. If there is an injury or the game ends up being a blow out, Hall could take his first snaps as a Seahawk.

One subpar performance doesn’t mean that Howell won’t see the field if the Seahawks look to the bench. Hall could very well be the emergency third-string QB.
If he does hit the field though, he will do so against his former team.
About Jaren Hall
Before his time at BYU, Hall was a standout player at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah.
After high school, the signal-caller served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. Following his mission service, Hall returned to Utah and attended BYU.
He played for the Cougars from 2018-22, including two years as BYU’s starting quarterback.

In December 2022, the junior decided to bypass his senior season of college and declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

During his time in Provo, Hall threw for 6,174 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a 65 percent completion rate. He also ran for 798 yards and nine touchdowns.
In April, Hall was selected by the Vikings with the No. 164 overall pick during the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
