Gianna Kneepkens, Big 12 Player of the Week
Kneepkens bested her previous career-high of 29 points, which she actually accomplished against BYU as a freshman back in 2021. She enjoyed back-to-back 30-point games, which also served as the first two 30-point games of her career.
To start, Kneepkens not only posted 30 points but a near triple-double against Kansas, which included a season-high 10 rebounds and 8 assists. She converted 12-of-18 from the field in that game, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. Most importantly, she led the Utes to a dominant 79-61 win after Utah dropped two straight.
To follow that up, she improved upon her career high by two, scoring 32 points against rival BYU in an 81-76 win in Provo. Kneepkens was efficient yet again, as she finished 8-of-16, which included 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, and 10-of-12 from the free throw line, and added 8 rebounds and 3 steals to her stat line.
Between the two games, she converted 58.8% from the field, 66.7% from the 3-point range, and 83.3% from the line. Her play led to two-straight victories, which improved Utah’s record to 15-5 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 Conference play.
