Crews are working to clear roads and restore power across the state. Over 159,000 Utahns were without power Tuesday evening and officials with Rocky Mountain Power said it could take 48-72 hours to fully restore power.
On Utah roads, dozens of semitrailers tipped over due to high winds. All restrictions have been lifted in Box Elder, Weber and Davis counties on I-15 and Legacy Parkway, but state troopers urged drivers to check conditions before leaving their homes.
Power outages have also affected schools. The Salt Lake City School District canceled classes for Wednesday after outages were reported in over half of the district’s buildings.
