SPANISH FORK, Utah — A girl was taken to the hospital for multiple injuries after she was hit by an SUV in a crosswalk.
According to Brandon Anderson with Spanish Fork Police Department, police were dispatched to the scene at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 100 S. Spanish Fork Drive.
The 12-year-old girl was roller blading when she was hit by an SUV traveling west on 100 South.
The girl was wearing helmet and knee pads, but was ultimately transported to a local hospital by ambulance with possible broken leg and internal injuries.
She was transported in stable condition, and her parents were contacted.
Anderson explained 100 South is a state road and is a busy road. When the girl was hit, she was at an intersection, not in a marked crosswalk, but in a legal crosswalk.
The incident is still under investigation. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with police.
