SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Amazon announced it is hiring 75,000 people for its fulfillment and logistics network across North America, and 1,400 of those jobs are coming to Utah.
The Seattle-based company said it will be offering a starting average wage of $16 per hour and sign-on bonuses of up to $1,000.
“We look forward to hiring 75,000 associates across our fulfillment and transportation network,” said Alicia Boler Davis, vice president of global customer fulfillment at Amazon. “Working at Amazon also comes with an unwavering commitment to safety, especially as we continue to navigate a global pandemic. In addition to the great pay and robust benefits available to new hires starting on their first day, we’re offering a $100 benefit to new hires who come to Amazon already vaccinated for COVID-19.”
Amazon officials said new employees will also be able to partake in the company’s on-site voluntary vaccination events.
The 1,400 jobs coming to Utah will be in addition to the 8,000 full- and part-time employees currently employed by Amazon in the Beehive State.
