RIVERTON — Bangerter Highway was closed at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday after a gas line was hit, UDOT said.
“Bangerter Hwy is closed SB at 12600 S and NB at 2700 W due to a gas line being hit. Avoid the area. Use I-15 or Mountain View Corridor as an alternate,” UDOT said on Twitter.
UDOT Public Relations Director John Gleason said the gas leak happened while construction crews were working on an interchange project, then hit a six-inch gas line.
Gleason confirmed that the highway had reopened at approximately 2:00 p.m.
