Bank robbery suspect arrested near downtown Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY — A 30-year-old man has been arrested and is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo bank near downtown Salt Lake City on Monday.
Christopher Martinez, 30, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Monday, according to a press release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.
According to the department, officers were dispatched to a bank robbery at 780 North Redwood Road at 9:36 a.m. on Monday.
The department noted in its press release that Martinez allegedly entered the bank and jumped over the counter while demanding money. A weapon was not seen during this altercation, and nobody in the bank was injured.
The release later states that two officers working a shift near 1300 South and 300 W. arrested Martinez, who was then booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
At the time of publishing, no bookings affidavit has been filed for Martinez, and Salt Lake police did not specify what charges Martinez was booked into jail under.
