JENSEN, Uintah County — The Bureau of Land Management in Vernal is asking for help from the public after they discovered climbing bolts were installed on Pregnant Sheep Petroglyph.
The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that authorities found the bolts on Nov. 10 on the petroglyph located between Bourdette Draw and Highway 40.
The Pregnant Sheep Petroglyph panel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is protected under the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, according to a BLM post on X Monday.
