LOGAN – For some people in Utah, watching the devastating wildfires in California is extremely stressful. Right now a California man who lives in the evacuation zone is in Utah watching and wondering if he’ll have a home to go back to.
Videos of the wildfires burning homes along the foothills in Los Angeles are keeping Angel Rosales up at night.
“I haven’t slept very good, because I’ve been concerned of course their safety, of all my belongings,” Rosales said.
Rosales lives there in Pasadena, but right now is visiting family in Logan. He left the day before the fires began.
“I’m about two states away, so it’s even more like, the only best updates I’m getting from my partner and he’s not that close to there,” Rosales said.
Tuesday, his partner was evacuated, along with many others, to escape the Eaton fire burning just seven to eight blocks away from their home. A video sent to him is the first thing that showed Rosales how close the flames are to their neighborhood.
“It makes me feel extremely anxious. I’m just hoping, hoping that it doesn’t reach there,” he said.
Hoping his house will be one of the lucky ones spared from the flames.
“Almost my entire life, everything that I own is there,” Rosales said.
Right now, Rosales said he’s leaning on his mother in Logan to help him get through this. He plans to go back on Wednesday, but at this point has no idea what he’ll be returning to when he arrives.
