SALT LAKE CITY — A Florida man was sentenced to 10 years in prison as well as supervised release in Utah on Monday.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Glenn Raymond Breeden, 56, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and permanent supervised release.
A filed indictment in the case states that Breeden chatted with an undercover officer who he believed to be the father of a 7-year-old boy, with the intent to sexually abuse a child.
According to the indictment, Breeden traveled to Salt Lake City and began communicating with the undercover officer in January 2024, agreeing to meet them at a hotel. The indictment also states that Breeden repeatedly asked for pictures of the child he believed he would be meeting and provided explicit descriptions of how he would sexually abuse the child.
The indictment noted that Breeden is registered as a sex offender in Florida, his home state, for a conviction regarding child sex abuse material in 2002.
The press release from the attorney’s office also stated that Breeden booked a hotel room for the presumed father and son to meet him, and was arrested after being met by officers.
Breeden was sentenced to a decade in prison and lifetime supervised release for two charges. Those charges are attempted sodomy upon a child, a first-degree felony and enticing a minor with a prior conviction, also a first-degree felony.
