SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Massive trees came crashing down in Sugar House Park and in several surrounding neighborhoods as a result of the powerful wind storm that ripped through Northern Utah.
According to crews, about 50 trees blew over at the Salt Lake City park Tuesday, along with some power lines.
“[It was] very frightening, because I thought something had hit our house, because it was so loud and it shook our house,” said Alexi Fisher, who lives just a short distance away from the park.

Trees in her neighborhood came crashing down. Several completely blocked the road and another one landed on her neighbors home.
“I’m completely shocked. I’ve never seen anything like this, but at the same time, I’m incredibly grateful that this entire neighborhood has come together to help everybody,” Fisher said.
Neighbor Kassidy Ray also couldn’t believe what was happening when she saw trees falling all around her house.
“I saw one of the trees had fallen down, and then all of a sudden, a couple seconds later, the second big tree across the street falls down, and it falls right on my friends car that is brand new,” she said. “I felt so bad.”
“It was crazy seeing tree after tree falling down, and it’s not like little baby trees. These are serious trees,” said Cole Jackman who was helping to clean up.
