SALT LAKE CITY — A Magna man is behind bars on Monday, accused of sexually abusing a child.
Maxwell Miller, 25, is facing two charges of child sexual abuse stemming from an investigation conducted by the Draper Police Department.
According to the charges being pressed against him, Miller sexually abused a child under the care of his wife, who is a nanny.
The indictment states that from late February to early March, Miller and his wife were looking after a client’s child while the clients were on vacation.
During that time, Miller is accused of having sexually abused the 4-year-old victim.
Later in the filing, the victim’s parents reported that after returning from their vacation, the victim was acting differently.
During forensic interviews, Miller is accused of removing the victim’s clothing and sexually abusing the child at some point during the night.
Miller was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on two charges. One charge is for sexual abuse of a child, which is a second-degree felony. The second charge against him is sodomy upon a child, a first-degree felony.
