Man hospitalized after being shot near Redwood Road, police say

SALT LAKE CITY — A fight resulted in a man being shot and sent to the hospital Friday afternoon.
Det. Dalton Beebe with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the shooting happened on 1700 S. Prospect Street just before 4 p.m.
Beebe said officers found a 38-year-old with a gunshot wound. Officers began first-aid on the man, and he was taken to a local hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police believe the man was shot after a fight with several people. The suspects left before police arrived on the scene. Beebe said there should be no threat to the public.

We are investigating a shooting at 1700 South Prospect Street.
Paramedics have taken one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
The injury is not considered life-threatening.
