Mechanical issues result in vehicle rollover in Washington County

LEEDS, Washington Co. — According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a man was sent to the hospital Monday afternoon after his vehicle rolled over due to a mechanical issue in the hood.
According to an X post from UDOT, the crash occurred on Interstate 15 at Mile Marker 27 near Leeds.

Trooper Takesha Durrant from UHP said the vehicle’s hood opened while traveling northbound before the driver would swerve which resulted in the vehicle rolling.
Durrant also said the driver was wearing his seatbelt, but was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to UHP, the southbound lane on Interstate 15 was closed to cleanup debris but has since been opened.
