Holladay, Utah— Footage shared with KSL TV shows a mountain lion prowling around at 6199 South Holladay Blvd.
Faith Heaton Jolley, with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources confirmed they had responded to a deer in the area that was considered a “cougar kill” that had been killed and then covered with grass.
DWR removed the deer so that “the cougar would not return for it.”
They said there had been a similar incident in Sandy with a mountain lion killing a deer in a neighborhood, and they think it could be the same one, traveling through and killing more urban deer.
In these cases, Jolley said, they typically “remove the deer so it doesn’t keep drawing the cougar back to that same area.”
