SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah — A woman from the Navajo Nation has returned home after she was reported missing and possibly endangered nearly a year ago, authorities said.
Officials with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said the family of Kayla Blackbird informed them that she had returned home sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.
She was last seen in September of 2020, according to police.
Deputies then contacted the Navajo Police Department, who was investigating the case.
Navajo police officers confirmed her return after they responded to the residence and saw her there.
“The family is very grateful for her return and asks for privacy at this time,” read a Facebook post from the SJCSO.
