SALT LAKE CITY – A nonprofit dedicated to building, assembling and delivering bunk beds to children and families in need is hosting its annual “Bunks Across America” event this weekend.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that was started in Idaho nearly a decade ago, assembles the bunk beds on a mass scale.
More than 6,000 volunteers built more than 4,600 bunk beds in their Bunks Across America event last year, and they’d like to do even more this time around.
It’s pretty simple and you don’t have to be an expert engineer or seasoned contractor to help out.
The big event this year is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lowe’s stores in Lehi, Logan, St. George and Syracuse.
You can sign up to help put these beds together that’ll benefit so many, or you can donate at their website.
They want to assemble 40 beds per store and their goal for 2021 is to make 7,500 beds for approximately 200 Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapters nationwide, including the four here in Utah.
