Ogden firefighters extinguish fire inside of storage unit

OGDEN — A fire at an Ogden storage unit caused about $40,000 in damages Saturday morning, fire officials say.
According to the Ogden Fire Department, the crews were dispatched to 2600 Pennsylvania Avenue after reports of a fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from a storage unit. Crews began fighting the fire and quickly gained access to the inside of the structure.
“An individual on scene informed firefighters that the unit contained an empty propane tank and a small gas can, prompting additional safety precautions,” Ogden fire said in a press release.
A total of 23 firefighters, two ladder trucks, three engine companies, an ambulance, and a paramedic unit from the Ogden, Riverdale, and Roy fire departments responded to the scene.
Ogden fire said no one was injured and the Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
