One dead in Ogden auto-pedestrian crash

SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Ogden on Monday.
According to Oden police, officers were dispatched to the area of 3300 Wall Avenue to investigate a possible auto-pedestrian crash.
When officers arrived, a deceased man was found at the scene. According to the department, the early investigation shows that the man was using a crosswalk, but was not using the signals for that crosswalk correctly.
The driver who is believed to have hit the man fled the scene, but was located a short time later. According to the department, that driver is cooperating with investigation efforts.
Police have not released any victim identification, due to efforts to notify next-of-kin.
Ogden police are asking anybody who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Ogden Police Traffic Bureau at 801-395-8221.
