One killed in Sevier County crash on state Route 24

SIGURD, Sevier County — One person was killed in a Sevier County crash on state Route 24 Wednesday night, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The Department of Public Safety identified the victim as 50-year-old Brandon Griffiths of Venice, Utah.

The Department of Public Safety said just after 9 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west and about to turn onto state Route 259. As it made its turn, the driver failed to see a gold Nissan Sentra traveling east. Both cars collided on their front left side, according to DPS.

Griffiths, the driver of the Nissan Sentra, was killed in the crash, DPS said, and the driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was not injured.
