One person shot in possible ‘road rage shooting,’ police say

SALT LAKE CITY — One person was shot and has “non-life-threatening injuries” in a possible road rage shooting.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the shooting occurred on 300 West near 2100 South, and one person was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses said they heard gunfire and then the screeching of a car speeding away. The man inside the truck veered off of the road with a shattered driver’s side window.
No one has been arrested in connection to the shooting.
There does not appear to be a threat to the community, but 300 West was closed temporarily from 1900-2100 South as officers processed the scene and collected evidence.
Police said they don’t know who the shooter is and are asking for the public’s help to find who is responsible. Anyone who witnessed the shooting should call police at 801-799-3000.
