Pedestrian killed after being hit by truck in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE — A man was killed after being hit by a pickup truck in South Salt Lake Thursday night.

South Salt Lake police Detective Ryan Alvarez told KSL TV that the man in his 40s or 50s was fatally hit at 3300 S. 1000 West.

Alvarez said the driver in the accident stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

The area is expected to be closed for about three hours.
