PLEASANT GROVE, Utah—As gas prices skyrocket, at least one location is making a big effort to keep prices low for their customers.
BJ’s Short Stop Gas Station in Pleasant Grove continues selling gas for cheap at $3.99 a gallon for those who pay in cash and $4.04 for those paying with cards.
The owner, Rick Padel, spoke to KSL TV and said they are going to “keep these low prices as long as they can afford it.”
So as prices elsewhere are up to $4.49 or higher, how do they do it?
They manage to keep prices this low by taking a lower margin— all in order to help the community. And because Padel said their supplier is helping them by giving them a good price.
Padel is also the area manager for a mini mart located in Ogden at 1453 Washington Blvd which he said also has the same low prices.
