Pursuit ends after suspects crash into bystanders cars on Bangerter Highway, police say

WEST JORDAN — Five suspects in a reported shooting ended up in police custody after crashing into two cars on Bangerter Highway Friday night.
Sgt Aymee Race with the Unified Police Department told KSL TV that dispatch received calls of gunfire near 7800 S. Main Street in Midvale.
Race said officers saw a car leaving the area at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The car fled, and officers pursued it. The chase went through multiple areas in South and West Jordan.
According to Race, the car tried to go southbound on the 7000 South Bangerter Highway on-ramp but crashed into two other vehicles. Five suspects were taken into custody without further incident and are being interviewed.
Police are asking residents and businesses to check their security footage for any signs of the shooting as police investigate the area where the shooting was reported.
