The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square announced Broadway singer and actress Lea Salonga as the guest artist for its renowned Christmas Concert.
Salonga is known for her role as the singing voice of Mulan from “Mulan” and “Mulan II” and Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin.”
She has also starred in numerous Broadway productions and won multiple awards including a Tony Award for her role in “Miss Saigon,” along with the Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards.
“We are delighted to have Lea Salonga with us as we welcome the community back to the Conference Center for our Christmas concerts,” Mack Wilberg, the choir director said. “Her compelling voice will bring the holiday spirit to the hearts of our audiences with joy, peace, light and love.”
This will be the first time in over two years the Christmas concert will be open to the public. In 2020 the concert was canceled for the pandemic, and in 2021 the concert had a limited audience.
The concert will be Thursday, Dec. 15, to Saturday, Dec. 17. Tickets are free, but are distributed through a random selection process and limited to two per household. Registration opens, Friday, Oct. 21 at noon and runs through Sunday Oct. 30 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
