UHP Makes Multiple Drug Busts On I-15, Seizes Hundreds Of Pounds Of Drugs

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It’s been a busy few weeks for the Utah Highway Patrol in Southern Utah, with several significant drug busts along I-15.
In total, troopers have seized 130 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 pounds of heroin and thousands of THC vape cartridges.
On Monday, authorities arrested Channing Allen, of Pennsylvania, who they said had 86 pounds of meth hidden in his car.
The next day, the UHP pulled over Jacqueline Vargas for speeding. a K-9 officer discovered 43 pounds of meth and more than 4 pounds of heroin hidden in a spare tire.
Earlier in October, troopers arrested three men in Iron County after finding more than 2,000 illegal THC vape cartridges hidden in their car during a traffic stop.
UHP says it seized more than 40,000 of those cartridges since the beginning of the year.
