UINTAH COUNTY, Utah — A woman was killed when she lost control of the car she was driving on icy roads and crashed.

According to Utah Highway Patrol, on Monday around 7:53 p.m., a 2011 Dodge 2500 pickup truck was headed east on state Route 40.

At the time, it was snowing with strong winds and iced-over roads.

A release from UHP states, “Near milepost 138, the 43-year-old female driver lost control, ran off the road to the right, and overturned multiple times. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, and the 47-year-old male passenger was pinned.”

Both the driver and passenger were transported to the hospital where the driver succumbed to her injuries and died.

Both occupants of the car appeared to be wearing seatbelts and no impairment is suspected.
