PARK CITY — Members of the U.S. rookie team practiced their slopestyle jumps into a giant airbag Wednesday morning, as many of them look forward with excitement to the 2034 Games that will be held in Salt Lake City.
“It’s really exciting,” said Henry Townsend, a teen Slope Skier from Park City. “This is kind of my hometown, so it’ll be really cool to see it come here.”

Others, like Ella Andrews, from Massachusetts are looking forward with a bit more ambition.
“I’ll be 27, which is a decent age to be in the Olympics,” she said. “And if not, it would be really cool to at least watch from my hometown and see all the amazing athletes come out here.”
Andrews, like many others, trains in Park City when they can, but hopes to eventually call Utah home because of the Olympic venues and Olympic-level training that is available here.
Several younger skiers were practicing their jumps into the pool at the Olympic Park on Wednesday.
“It’s exciting because I can come back and I can take a term off of college to come out here and help out with it. Or I could even compete in it,” said Jackson Olson.
