Emmy award-winning and veteran TV journalist Dan Rascon is the weekend anchor for KSL-TV (NBC) in Salt Lake City.
Rascon has traveled the country and world for nearly 30 years, capturing some of the most compelling, heart-wrenching, and inspiring stories. He’s been a solid fixture in the Utah news market since October 1999.
A Colorado native, Rascon graduated from Brigham Young University in broadcast journalism in 1991.
He has worked as a TV journalist in San Diego, Fresno, Los Angeles, Denver, and Utah.
He has covered everything from the devastating fires and earthquakes in California to the Oklahoma City Bombing trial in Denver, to the 9-11 terrorist attacks in New York City, to the five-week Elizabeth Smart Kidnapping trial in Salt Lake to the devastating ambush of American women and children in Northern Mexico by the cartel.
He has won numerous Emmy’s and journalism awards for his storytelling skills.
Rascon and his wife Bonni, have five children, and five grandchildren.
