Daily storms will continue to develop for southern Utah through the 5-7 days. The best chances for storms across the Wasatch Front will be tomorrow & Friday in the afternoon and evening. If a storm does develop over the valley, it’ll still have to fight some dry air, so accumulations will likely be minimal. If we manage to get a heavy shower it’ll be short-lived. Flash flood potential will be moderately elevated in southern Utah through the rest of this week, so use caution when recreating in flood prone areas like slot canyons. Highs remain around 100 through the next 7 days for SLC. Excessive heat looks to build in Washington County and Zion N.P. over the weekend. – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 7.17.24
