Video: BODY CAM: Salt Lake man arrested after carjacking woman with a BB gun, says he did it to pay rent

On Dec. 11, 2022, police officers in Salt Lake County pursued Ioelu Ioelu Toafe for carjacking a woman with a BB gun and fleeing from police.
Officers had to use a PIT maneuver on Toafe to stop him and he was placed into custody.
On March 14, 2024, Toafe was sentenced to five years to life in prison for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; one to 15 years in prison for obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony; and zero to five years in prison for failure to stop at the command of police, a third-degree felony.
