On July 29, 2024, an officer with the Sandy Police Department responded to a suspicious activity call with two cars in the Lone Peak Park parking lot when the park was closed.
When the officer arrived, the officer reported that the driver “(turned) his vehicle left towards me as if it was attempting to strike (him)” and fled the scene.
After chasing the suspect and ending the case due to safety concerns, the driver called police and claimed his car was stolen. However, the driver admitted to being the driver and fleeing from officers.
