Showers and storms with continue this evening across Utah, weakening after sunset. Some showers, isolated storms will linger overnight for parts of central, northern and eastern Utah. Eventually, skies will clear and we’ll have sunshine tomorrow morning. A cold front will then bring another round of storms that can be strong to severe Thursday afternoon and evening for central and eastern Utah. Any severe storm is capable of heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and large hail. Storms can move as far north as SLC and south as Bryce Canyon down to Kanab. A flash flooding threat remains high in southern and especially eastern Utah. Finally, a drier, cooler airmass moves in Friday and brings short-term relief from the heat with highs in the mid 80s. We’ll quickly return to the upper 90s for the weekend with breezy winds. – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 6.26.24
