Areas of fog are likely to redevelop tonight into tomorrow morning, so expect reduced visibilities and some slick spots. A first cold front will pass through Utah tonight, bringing passing clouds, but no precip. A second cold front will come through Sunday night into Monday and will be slightly stronger, but weaker than preciously forecast. What this means is, some light snow showers will be possible in northern and central Utah moutains and even a chance around the Great Salt Lake, but accumulations are minimal. This will bring in colder air aloft and help WEAKEN the inversion, but it will not completely flush out the haze. While we’ll see improvements in the air quality and visibility, it is only temporary. High pressure is going to build back in by midweek and we will see the inversion develop again, and more haze will accumulate through the end of next week. Highs will be in the upper 30s Monday and Tuesday, then climb into the 40s for the remainder of the work week. – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 12.7.24
