Video: Evening weather forecast for Jan. 24, 2024
Jan 24, 2024, 10:57 PM | Updated: 11:38 pm
Rain/snow will move in tonight and lead to a messy morning commute. Snow totals along the Wasatch from will be minor (Trace to 2″, higher values the further north you go), but given the timing of the snowfall in the morning, slushy conditions will be likely from Salt Lake City up through Logan and in the northern canyons and mountains. A change over to rain will happen mid to late morning in the valleys where an additional .20 to .40″ of rain will fall. The mountains will benefit from this system: 6-10″ in the northern mountains (locally higher in the Cottonwoods), 4-8″ in the central mountains, and 6-10″ in the southern mountains with locally higher at Brian Head and the Tushar Mountains. Southern Utah, like St. George, will see rainfall amounts mainly between .10 to .30 of an inch of rain. Rain/snow will taper off late Thursday night with some snow lingering in the mountains. We’ll fully dry out statewide Friday morning, and that trend will continue into the weekend. – KSL Weather – Devan Masciulli 1.24.24
