Video: Evening weather forecast for June 5, 2024.

The heat wave is here! Highs break into the 90s Thursday, which marks the first 90 degree day this year for the Wasatch Front. For perspective, a high of 95 degrees in Salt Lake typically happens around June 25th, so this occurrence tomorrow is early for the season. St. George may break a record Thursday with a forecast high of 108 degrees (previous record is 107). Expect lots of sunshine the next few days, but Friday comes with an isolated shower or storm chance in the afternoon and early evening. If a shower/storm is able to develop over the mountains and move over a valley, not a lot rain is expected but gusty winds and some lightning are. Any rain chances over the weekend are low and over the higher terrain of northern Utah. The 90s continue through Monday next week. Stay cool and stay hydrated! – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 6.5.24
