A cold front will move into NW Utah Thursday morning that’ll bring a band of moderate to heavy precipitation with it. Showers will begin around 10-11am for the northern tip of Utah, moving south to the Wasatch Front from about 2pm to 7pm, then moving into central Utah Thursday night. Winds will be breezy throughout the day with gusts between 20 and 30 mph, strongest in western and southern Utah. The cold front will stall in central Utah early Friday and will weaken, but pop-up showers will develop in the afternoon and evening around the front. Northern Utah will likely stay dry but cloudy during the day until the front shifts north and brings the chance of showers Friday night. Precipitation totals: .10-.40″ of rain for the central and northern Utah, and 5-10″ of mountain snow. Scattered to widespread valley rain and mountain snow returns this weekend with an additional .25-.75″ of rain possible and 1-2′ of mountain snow. – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 3.27.24
