The combination of a high pressure ridge and increasing southerly winds will pump up temperatures across the state tomorrow and Thursday, Thursday being the hottest as Salt Lake City should see its first 100 of the year. By Friday, the high pushes on as a low pressure trough starts to move in from the Pacific Northwest that will be over us by Monday-Tuesday of next week. That is going to drop temperatures down to normal or below, and we may see a small chance for some rain showers around, but don’t hold your breath on the rain. Long range models show the general cooler pattern lasting through a good part of next week although southern Utah won’t see the temperatures dip as much as in the north.
